A Warm Welcome Accorded

Fizan Ahil of class x was qualified to take part in the National School Chess Championship held at New Delhi on 29th
November. He got this prestigious privilege representing the District when he bagged second in the third category of
the State School Chess Championship held at Calicut.

Earlier, twenty-four students from Ace had attended the District level championship held at Kottakkal from which the
following nine had been qualified to participate in the State level Championship: Bhavan Kalyan, Fizan Ahil, Azim Ummer,
Fuad Rahman, Aman Ashraf, Ameen, Kailas, Lasin and Ashin Ashraf. All the students were honoured with medals and trophies
in the school assembly.

Later, the school literally painted the town red to spread the red carpet to Fizan Ahil returning from New Delhi with another
prestigious feather on his cap; the entry in to the national squad to represent India in the World Chess Championship to be held
in October 2019. Fizan Ahil achieved this stunning feat after defeating Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, UP and Assam. The Felicitation
Programme was attended by Fizan’s parents who also spoke on the occasion.
